All of the Common Core and Essential Standards including ITES build on the previous year's standards. One year they might be expected to recognize which changes to being able to execute the next year. It is a progression from simple to more complex as you move through the grade levels.
Most of the ITES are skills that can be used with almost any content area. For example, the research process can be used to gather, organize and present information on math, science, etc. Also using technology tools to present information can be applied to many varied content areas.
The ITES that focus on genre go hand in hand with the Language Arts Common Core standards.
Thus, there are many connections between the ITES and other Common Core and Essential Standards.
